This weekend: Friday is a birthday party for one of my Qwestie friends. It seems they ALL have their birthdays this last month or so, i.e, Misty, James, Karla and Dan. And I am the only one left with an early January (cold, crumby, everyone is burnt out after the holidays) birthday.

Volunteering at the American Diabetes Association's 'Step Out: Walk to Fight Diabetes'. Saturday morning from 6-11. Kudos me.

Going to the X96 Big Ass Show at USANA to see Jack's Mannequin. Mury is playing at 11:30 and Jack's Mannequin is playing at 5'ish. I don't really know if I want to show up early to see one band and wait around all day to see another. Priorities priorities.

I want to make it up to Oktoberfest before it ends.

I have a feeling like I have a sliver or glass on my right ring finger as I type. Painful and frustrating.

Off to shower, pick up paycheck (moooooney!), pay bills and clean my house.

Downtime

I have nothing sharp and witty to write. I'm feeling like I'm in a lull.
Everything with work is coming into order. I start my new job on October 6th.
Until then, I am doing a bit of temp work here and there.

I may update or alter this entry later. I may dig for a topic online. I enjoy writing, sometimes I just have no idea what I care to write about. Or what y'all will read.

I've never liked being a Jessica. Too many of us.
I'm getting used to it after almost 23 years but I always wanted some sweet memorable name.

An internet friend just changed identities again. I'm envious.

My name Jessibella came to me one night with friends. JJ suggested my screen name to be Jessibella. It's pretty but borderline skank (Jezebel).
It's a long 'i' too, for everyone that butchers it. Not Jessie-bella.

I asked my friends to rename me about 2 1/2 years ago and only one stuck as a pet name.

So, what I'm asking is for everyone reading this to comment and suggest a new online handle or to just really rename me. Who knows, I just may do it legally. ;)

You have my pictures on Flickr, my Twitter, limited access to Livejournal and Facebook to get a feel for what will fit me.

So far I've got BessieJella. It makes me giggle and I kinda like it.

I just cut my mile running time down by 15 seconds.
But now I'm wheezing and hacking.
Please do not let me be getting sick. I'm so damn onry and mean when sick. I demand babying and pampering as if it were the end. But hey, you never know! Tuberculosis is on on the rise and I've made enough cracks at TB for it to come take my ass down unexpectedly.

Side note, my favorite person (Alice) came and saw me at work today. Good talks, even better hugs.

Saw Burn After Reading tonight and really enjoyed it. Favorite person said 'phooey' to it but that person isn't a Coen brothers fan.
Was bored out of their mind watching Fargo. Forced to watch No Country for Old Men in film class. I am not sure if they ever saw The Big Lebowski.

Choose Your Own Shitstorm

When I was little, we had a hoard of the 'Choose Your Own Adventure' books that I loved so much. But I always 'cheated'. I'd flip to the page directed and skim ahead to ensure I didn't die. But I had good reason, my young heart couldn't take it!

So can we just write out the next six months of my life as a one of these glorious books?
Example:

If you decide to wait for your ex to come around,

turn to page 5.

If you decide to start thinking serious about selling your kidney

so you can move out of state to obtain a college education without the

distraction of feelings for your ex and needs of your crazy family,

turn to page 4.

If you decide that 70% your friends are self absorbed and you would

like to keep them at arms length,

turn to page 9.

Then I could just use my finger as a placeholder, skip ahead and see how it all works out. Somehow, page 5 looks and sounds so appealing but as with any relationship/nuke... you need both keys to make it happen. He dropped his in a storm drain. Purposefully.

Ugh. This post is somewhat bitter. I had fun searching for the image to add to this though. Take a look at the rest of the Choose Your Own Adventure books that didn't make it.

Maybe I'll make my own cover art and post it.

I have an 8G in red that still works and was the best gift I got for my 21st birthday... but it's engraved with reminders of old endearments.
I really liked last year's Chiclet design but I have more accessories for this bar style.

I had the worst bad mood today. Nothing triggered it. I was just outwardly MEAN.

Let's cross our fingers that tomorrow isn't as horrible.

But... On my run tonight, my Nike+ told me that I had set a new personal record on my mile time. Woot! 7 min, 35 sec. I know that isn't GREAT but I've still got a lot of weight to cut.

Sweatin'

Working out again. It's one of the only things keeping me sane. I have reestablished my love for my bicycle and yoga.

I may make some brave attempts at rollerblading around Liberty before it gets chilly. But... I was there the other day and the paved pathways are all covered in wood chip debris from the outer trail and I can already see myself TRIPPING ON MY FACE. On the east side of the park, by 7oo East. And at that moment, any of my ex-boyfriends/old friends will be driving by. Actually, a car loaded with of all of them AND any teacher who never liked my quippy responses in class.
Can anyone sense a fear of falling? Agh.

Started my new job today. It's good to be with friends.
